THE OWNER SAYS
We have absolutely loved our time at Osterley Road and will be sad to go. The sitting room is a great size and south facing so always flooded with light. Sitting in the kitchen and looking out onto the garden with the radio on is a pleasure each morning, and the dining table can easily accommodate more people when we have friends for lunch or supper.
The garden has brought us so much joy. During lockdown, we grew tons of vegetables and ate our own salads every day. The home office has been amazing, and the flat can now comfortably accommodate two people working from home. We also use it in the evenings and at weekends for hobbies like music and painting, and in the summer it’s a lovely place to sit and read a book with the doors thrown open.
Osterley Road is the perfect location – Dalston is only a 10-minute walk, and Church Street and Clissold Park are just round the corner. We also love the coffee shops and pubs, which are minutes away on Allen Street, and Butterfield Green and orchard is so close and perfect for an early morning stroll with the dog.

This insanely cool bar/laid-back restaurant is a little gem. Not making a big statement from the outside, the interior has real Art Deco glory, with a beautifully crafted wooden bar, and sumptuous palm wallpaper. We love trying inventive cocktails and their delightful small dishes. One of our team's favourites is the charred leeks with crispy quinoa, it's utterly delicious.
A retro cinema sign above the entrance sets the scene for this cosy underground cocktail bar and lounge. Exposed brickwork and soft lighting create a perfect setting for date night, the martinis are all excellent and the Manhattan is a true classic.
Like all good bookshops this is much more than a place to buy something to read. Stoke Newington Bookshop been part of this community for 30 years, and the friendly and knowledgeable staff are quick to offer reading advice. Come here for talks from local authors or to read to little ones in the lovely children’s corner.
This place is bread heaven! All baked on the premises, the vibe is stripped back simplicity – it’s a great pitstop for coffee and cake while you pick up your morning loaf. Arrive early though to avoid disappointment; they do tend to sell out of the favourites (the seeded rye is ours) by the afternoon.
Beautiful interiors and lifestyle store on Church Street, stocking some of our favourite homeware brands. One of our go-to's!
