THE OWNER SAYS
We’ve been so happy here! Our children have grown from toddlers to twentysomethings, attending the local (fantastic) schools, and using the Castle Climbing Centre, Clissold Leisure Centre and the Sailing Centre, which are all so close by. We’re big fans of Clissold Park, walking the dog every day.
The large, lateral layout of the house is special. It just makes it such a classic family home. But the garden is what we bought the house for, and we’ve absolutely loved it. It’s secluded and filled with birds. The rose garden was restored from an old one and is just so romantic. We’ve had lots of outdoor dinners and parties here, and even hosted a wedding reception for friends!
Our street is super friendly, and lots of the neighbours know each other well. We have regular meet-ups at the pub at the end of the road (six times a year) and keep in contact about anything happening in the neighbourhood – a genuine community that we will be sad to leave.

This lovely big Victorian Park is the centre of Stoke Newington life. A gorgeous green space packed full of family friendly delights, there's a great cafe and events centre with food and activities, a wildlife area with deer, a skate park, tennis courts and a brilliant kid’s paddling pool and playground. All kinds of events pop up here over the summer including steam fairs, and festivals of Nigerian art, Anatolian culture and literature.
2 The West Reservoir
Lush outdoor swimming spot, in the summer it even warms up enough for fair-weather swimmers.
3 Finks Salt & Sweet
Open all day every day, Finks serves up simple yet delicious morsels to an ever-growing troop of (well fed) locals. It’s a laid-back neighbourhood spot that’s serious about great food. You can happily have coffee and cake, or switch it up and have something more substantial on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. You can't go wrong.

Good food with a good heart - as well as a superb brunch selection, this independent cafe supports local charity Action For Kids. Don’t leave without trying the fiery but sublime shakshuka.
5 The Spence Bakery
This place is bread heaven! All baked on the premises, the vibe is stripped back simplicity – it’s a great pitstop for coffee and cake while you pick up your morning loaf. Arrive early though to avoid disappointment; they do tend to sell out of the favourites (the seeded rye is ours) by the afternoon.
