This has been the perfect first home for us and our son. We always loved the original Victorian features, and we have enjoyed making it our own and having neat under-stair storage solutions and cast-iron radiators. The spacious kitchen/diner is a fantastic light-filled space for entertaining and family time.
The neighbourhood is brilliant with plenty of cafes and a great variety of speciality food shops along Green Lanes. A little further afield, but still only 20-minutes away on foot, Crouch End has wonderful shops, restaurants and two great cinemas. We’re also within a short walk of five parks, plus Alexandra Palace is also nearby – you can see its legendary annual firework display from the loft! We will miss the community feel, amazing transport links and having so many amenities on our doorstep.

The owners have put in a new kitchen, a new main bathroom and an en-suite bathroom in the loft. They also put in new flooring throughout (except the loft), fireplaces and fitted cupboards and shelving in the front and rear reception rooms, built-in wardrobes in the three bedrooms, and re-plastered and painted throughout. They also replaced the incoming mains water pipe to improve water flow and added a new combi-boiler in July 2020, as well as replacing the garden fence.
East of Crouch End Village and Alexandra Palace Park, the Harringay Ladder has excellent transport connections, with Turnpike Lane and Manor House on the Piccadilly Line plus Harringay and Hornsey overground stations running directly to Moorgate. You can also easily walk to Finsbury Park, opening up various additional connections and options.

Currently used as a guest and office room, it would work equally well as the main bedroom with a recently installed, private en-suite. Overall, the layout is spacious and hugely versatile.
With bustling Green Lanes at the end of the road, you have an array of outstanding Turkish restaurants on your proverbial doorstep, but there is also an ever-growing mix of shops, bars and cafés. We love The Dusty Knuckle bakery and the vibey Brouhaha cocktail bar serving excellent Japanese food. A quick bike ride along the New River Canal will pop you out in Islington, while the Parkland Walk connects Finsbury Park to Ally Pally via Crouch End, Highgate and Muswell Hill. And for those brave enough to do a spot of wild swimming, the Woodberry Wetlands Reservoir Centre is a 30-minute walk away.

It began as a health food shop with a cafe as a sideshow, but the latter became so popular it grew and took over. Now, with an added a soft play area with kids’ toys and an expanded menu, it’s a huge hit with parents seeking solace in coffee and cake.
Our favourite place to spend additional pennies on over-priced organic chocolate from Australia and locally brewed beer. Joking aside, the selection is good, and it’s easily one of the best local places to get quality, organic produce. You get to take all of it home in a tote – which rather tellingly reads, “Not Another Tescos.”
The grand establishment that is The Salisbury harks back to the days when the area was really rather posh indeed. It’s both a relief and a delight that despite various refurbishments over the years, no one has gone and done anything silly like ripping out the original, ornate, atmospheric Victorian saloon bar and décor. A wonderful pub like this is even more special when you can call it your ‘local’.
Their second location, shares more of the good stuff: a bakery and café by day, a pizza and wine spot by night. The Dusty Knuckle is a purpose-driven business, helping at-risk youth take forward steps in their lives through on-the-job training and mentorship. Insanely popular, and utterly delicious there isn't anything about his place we don't like.
This little café is a real local favourite. Its delicious pastries and award-winning Ozone coffee get almost as much love as its friendly service. But First Coffee is just around the corner from Harringay station, so you can get to know your new neighbours by making it part of your morning routine.
