BRICKWORKS SAYS

Brimming with Edwardian charm, every element of this beautiful and expansive three-level family home has been thoughtfully updated and restored. Decorated with a classic and understated palette, period touches are woven throughout and mix seamlessly with its modern accents, including the voluminous kitchen/dining extension that leads out onto the patio of the landscaped south-east facing garden.

To the front of the house, bespoke cabinetry and a handsome fireplace characterise the elegant reception room, while its broad bay window provides swathes of natural light. The back reception makes an ideal snug or kids den. Upstairs, three double bedrooms and a neighbouring study are served by the modernised bathroom. While at the front, the principal bedroom has its own en-suite shower room.

At the top of the house, the recently converted loft presents a modern and crisp bedroom with an en-suite shower room and a further bedroom, which could be used as an office, nursery or dressing room. Overall, the home offers immaculate and convenient living with space for a family to prosper and grow.

Dulwich Village provides a wonderful, calm environment and an array of eateries and shops, not to mention the eponymous Dulwich Picture Gallery and its tranquil gardens. A broad selection of cafes, restaurants and independent shops can be found on Lordship Lane, a quick 10-minute walk away, including Mongs Cheesemongers, Franklin’s Delicatessen and The Picture House Cinema. Belair Park, Brockwell Park, Peckham Rye Park and the Horniman Museum & Gardens are within walking reach. THE OWNER SAYS

This house was in the perfect location for us. Being so close to the beautiful Dulwich Park, Dulwich Village and the amenities of Lordship Lane, we felt absolutely spoilt for choice as everything was on our doorstep.

Dulwich needs no introduction as one of the most historic, green and quiet areas in London – the garden is hardly overlooked and is especially private in the spring and summer when all of the plants are in bloom.

3 Crown & Greyhound

An iconic grade II listed pub-come-hotel, a staple in Dulwich life and affectionately referred to as ‘The Dog’ by locals, has recently been restored to its former glory and then some. With yards of wood panelling, chic cornicing and mismatched furniture it’s a perfectly reliable and soulful spot to entertain the family for a hearty Sunday Roast. Offering a rotation of alternative mainstream beers on tap, craft bottled beer and an enormous leafy beer garden you can’t go wrong with this trusty local.

4 Picturehouse East Dulwich

Any neighbourhood with a Picturehouse Cinema is our kind of neighbourhood. The East Dulwich outpost has a bar and café, so you can grab a bite or a bevvie before showtime. And like every Picturehouse, the eclectic programme offers arthouse films, blockbuster hits and something for the kids.
