THE OWNERS SAY
We love our flat! The road is a hidden gem in Dalston, and we have great pubs, cafes and a yoga studio, all within 200 yards. It's super close to Hackney Downs, which is a lovely open green space, not nearly as busy as other Hackney parks.
As for the flat itself, the best bit has to be the living spaces. We spend a lot of time in the kitchen, cooking and hanging out. It's wonderfully bright, and you can enjoy breakfast on the balcony, as well as spring and summer and evening BBQs. Out the back is our very own Hackney forest; we sit in line with the treetops full of all types birds, singing their little hearts out.
The living room catches the evening sun, and has a hidden work area tucked in the corner, which we use as a home office during the day — it's great for people watching too. The bedrooms are quiet and relaxing, and the bathroom is great for a quick rainfall shower or relaxing candle-lit bath.

This independent “art deco picture palace” has a storied history, but its real appeal is arthouse and family-friendly fare in a rare and wonderful setting. Come for the film, stay for the new whisky bar, situated conveniently next to Screen 2.
Modeled on a traditional Japanese izakaya, Jidori even has a grill shipped straight from Tokyo. The open kitchen puts it on full display, so you can see the chefs whipping up signature yakitori: grilled chicken skewers served with delicate sides. There are some great veggie options on offer, too, as well as yummy cocktails. The katsu curry Scotch egg is a must.
Planted atop what was once the old Eastern Curve Railway line, this community garden is an oasis of green amongst the buzz. With a café kiosk, pizza oven and cosy greenhouse (complete with woodburning stove), it’s a great place to eat, drink and gather—casually or at events ranging from birdwatching and candle-making workshops to festive season singalongs.
