We love opening the garden doors on long summer days and basking in the sun. A peaceful sanctuary on days when we work from home and a great space for drinks and long lunches with friends.
We also love Sunday strolls, window shopping and lazy brunches along Church Street. There are always new and exciting things popping up.
Clissold Park is our favourite regular leg-stretch. We do a couple of laps when the sun goes down or play tennis when we're up to something a bit more physical. We visit the animal enclosures and dip into the paddling pool with visiting nieces and nephews. Whatever the reason, we almost always end up in the beer garden of the Clissold Park Tavern.

From the staff's understanding and knowledge of produce, grape & grain to the buzzing open kitchen, everything connects you to the culinary experience; it feels grounded and authentic. The ever-changing menu, made up of sharing plates is seriously delicious, and the wine list consistently brilliant. It is one of our most very favourite places.
3 Clissold Park
This lovely big Victorian Park is the centre of Stoke Newington life. A gorgeous green space packed full of family friendly delights, there's a great cafe and events centre with food and activities, a wildlife area with deer, a skate park, tennis courts and a brilliant kid’s paddling pool and playground. All kinds of events pop up here over the summer including steam fairs, and festivals of Nigerian art, Anatolian culture and literature.
4 Perilla
This Scandi-styled restaurant serves creative, affordable, unpretentious food in a friendly setting. A seasonal fixed-price tasting menu adds a few new twists to well-known classics. Foodies travel from far and wide to enjoy Perilla’s unique fare, so booking is essential.
5 The Spence Bakery
This place is bread heaven! All baked on the premises, the vibe is stripped back simplicity – it’s a great pitstop for coffee and cake while you pick up your morning loaf. Arrive early though to avoid disappointment; they do tend to sell out of the favourites (the seeded rye is ours) by the afternoon.
