We have loved living in this home for five years. Located in the centre of Greenwich, tucked away on a quiet street, our outlook is onto Alfege Park. We are south-facing, so light pours into the living room throughout the day. The residents are friendly and caring and the street is made up of a mix of families and young professionals, giving it a genuine community feel.
The area has everything you could need. Greenwich Park is five minutes away on foot and home to the Greenwich Observatory. We have enjoyed many a stroll down the river, taking in the stunning views across London alongside the UNESCO-listed, seafaring setting. Greenwich Market is bustling with a wide range of street food, antiques and crafts. Also the best Brazilian Churros! Cafés are abundant, so you're never too far from a good flat white - our favourite is 15 Grams.
Greenwich has a village feel while being well-connected to the city. There's a Picturehouse Cinema, gym, and yoga studios, while Royal Hill has an independent butcher, fishmonger and florist amongst others. What more could you ask for!
A little further afield, we enjoy visiting Deptford. Fantastic restaurants include Lomond and Marcella, and a short walk under the Thames foot tunnel takes you to the Isle of Dogs, for the peaceful Docks and child-friendly Mudchute Farm.
Forming part of an eye-catching development that was completed in 2017, this third-floor flat enjoys views over St Alfege Park and is moments from the hustle and bustle of Greenwich.

Despite being world-renowned, Greenwich has a distinct village feel, with its covered market and array of independent shops. With city-wide views from the top of Greenwich Park as well as the Thames on your doorstep, it's a wonderful spot to soak up the rest of the capital.

Cutty Sark is seconds from your door, where you can hop onto the Docklands Light Railway (DLR), with routes to Bank, Canary Wharf and London City Airport. Walk a little further, and you reach Greenwich and mainline train services, including Thameslink. From here, London Bridge is reachable in around 10 minutes and St Pancras in just over 20. Alternatively, a short bus ride will take you to New Cross, where you can jump onto the Overground, opening up the entire London network. Or, if you feel like taking the scenic route, you can grab one of the riverboats (The Thames Clipper), which go up and down the Thames; to London's South Bank and beyond.

Everyone has a favourite local coffee shop, and this is ours. 15grams is a small batch coffee shop, roasting and brewing high-quality speciality coffee. They focus on sustainably and creating a positive social impact –– they also make damn fine coffee.
Packed with independent stalls offering a smorgasbord of delicious things to eat and drink, Greenwich Market is a firm favourite with local foodies. But there is so much more on offer! This indoor market dates back to 1737 – the only one in London located within a World Heritage site – it is a mecca for antiques, arts & crafts, designers and makers.
This local free-house is a top-notch pub set within an incredible setting, inside and out. In 2009 Guy Awford and Jon Hallett took over and began lovingly transforming the space. On the ground floor, they have created a modern bar and dining area that overlooks a sunken garden. Meanwhile, the basement dining area, which opens into the terrace, is home to an open-plan kitchen, where you can see the chefs in action. The food is superb.
One of London's historic Royal Parks, Greenwich Park overlooks the River Thames and is home to some of the city's most iconic views. There is an eclectic mix of events on offer year-round, including Kidukeu Rhythms (dance), Tai Chi and Tennis. And for any runners out there, you may catch local resident Ben Parks doing hill repeats.
Eating at Marcella is one of life's pleasures. They celebrate simple, delicious food and drink, focusing on the best seasonal Italian and British produce. With an all-Italian wine list that focuses on quality, whatever the price point, you will come away feeling full and possibly a little tipsy, but glad this place exists.
